Stainless Steel Cleaning
The least expensive and easiest way for cleaning stainless steel is to use alcohol. If possible let the alcohol soak the steel overnight when cleaning stainless steel. There are also many cleaners that you can purchase for cleaning stainless steel as well. A lot of the stainless steel cleaners can be used to clean other types of metal as well. A first step for cleaning stainless steel is to wash with hot water to cut through and oils or grease that might be on the surface. By definition stainless steel is not terribly easy to clean but can become dull over time and require special cleaning and polishing to help bring the original shine back out. Normal household items like baking soda, club soda and vinegar can be use to help bring any ground dirt to the surface for easy rinsing. To prevent cleaning which will never work, never let pans boil dry or over heat. Overheating stainless steel can permanently damage these pans and may look dirty, but are actually impossible to clean. When trying to clean stainless steel avoid using highly abrasive materials like steel wool, which will permanently scratch the surface of the stainless steel and is highly noticeable. Stainless steel is a wonderful type of surface overall and is extremely durable. With stainless steels rust and stain resistance properties, stainless steel will promise a long life of low maintenance. Stainless steel rarely requires special attention like this and when it does it is on a very rare occasion that you would not notice, like occasionally polishing silverware. Like spring cleaning, stainless steel cleaning is still something that you may want to do just to make sure it is already done, so that if a time occurs where you would need to have the cleaning done, then it will already be finished.
