Royal Lightweight RY6400 or MRY640 Upright Vacuum Cleaner Product Review

The Royal Appliance Manufacturing Company is best known for its manufacturing of the popular Dirt Devil line of vacuums. The company itself was founded in 1905 as the P.A. Geier Company by Philip Geier and was established out of his garage. He made his early vacuum cleaners entirely by hand and then started making washing machines, mixers, hair dryers, and other small home appliances. By 1937, the company introduced the first hand-held vacuum. In the 1980s, it rose to the number 3 spot amongst all vacuum companies and though it has struggled since, it’s still a trusted manufacturer.

The Royal Lightweight MRY640 Vacuum Cleaner is a popular model. The Royal Lightweight MRY640 Vacuum Cleaner has a very powerful 12-amp motor that helps the vacuum pick up the debris that gets buried and ground into carpets. In fact, compared with similar vacuums on the market, the Royal Lightweight MRY640 Vacuum Cleaner is twice as effective and it’s priced about the same. The Royal Lightweight MRY640 Vacuum Cleaner includes three on-board accessories: a telescoping wand, a crevice tool to get into tight spaces, and a dusting brush to help finish the cleaning job.

The Royal Lightweight MRY640 Vacuum Cleaner has a very large 12-inch nozzle to help suck up all the stuff that gets into those difficult to reach corners. The Royal Lightweight MRY640 Vacuum Cleaner’s cord is 35 feet as opposed to 20 so you can clean an entire room without having to switch outlets. The cord itself is a 3-wire, SVT-type cord as well. The cord itself has quick-cord release that comes in handy with its 35 foot cord length.

The vacuum’s bag is unique as it’s made out of Gore-tex to make it both soft and durable. It has the special HEPA-type bag that cuts down on the amount of dirt and dust that escapes back into the room, making it good for both the environment and people in the house that suffer from allergies. The vacuum’s handle is metal instead of the typical plastic, which makes gripping it a bit easier. The MRY640 doesn’t weigh a whole lot at only 14 lbs, and many on the market are a bit heavier; making it easier to physically move around.

The Royal Lightweight MRY640 Vacuum Cleaner also has a one-year commercial warranty. If you’re looking for a simple vacuum to help keep your home clean and don’t need a vacuum capable of cleaning hardwood floors, then the Royal Lightweight MRY640 Vacuum Cleaner is perfect for you.
