Kirby Vacuum Cleaners

Kirby vacuum cleaners are manufactured and sold by the Kirby Company, located in Cleveland, Ohio. They operate in other parts of the world, although they are most popular in the United States. They rely on representatives working in different cities and regions to sell their vacuums by going directly into the shopper’s home.

Jim Kirby was the man behind Kirby vacuum cleaners. He had already patented some of his ideas when he built his first vacuum in 1906. This vacuum relied on a cloth bag to hold the dust, and rotating heads to pull the dirt upward. Many consider this to be the first vacuum cleaner in history. He followed that up with the Vacuette Electric, which was the first of its kind. To create this vacuum Kirby worked closely with the Scott and Fetzer Company. The upright vacuum came complete with additional tools to clean other areas of the home. The model was so popular that Kirby began incorporating those features into all later models.

The first vacuum cleaner released as a Kirby vacuum cleaner was the Kirby Model C, which came out in 1935. This was one of the first cleaners that came with a power button on the bottom of the container, known as the toe-touch button. In the 1960s the company was acquired by the Scott and Fetzer Company, and became one of their subsidiaries.

The Kirby Classic was released in 1970 and sales of the vacuum skyrocketed. This was unique in that the company worked with customers and used their feedback to create a vacuum cleaner that contained everything they wanted and needed. The sales of this vacuum were so large that the company had to open a second manufacturing plant. They moved into Texas in 1972 and set up a base of operations in Andrews, Texas.

Twenty years later they released the Generation 3 vacuum, which was one of the first vacuums made almost entirely from aluminum. It also had the added benefit of being lightweight enough that it moved with a soft touch. It was during this time period that they also began offering purchasing plans and financing on their models to make purchasing a vacuum even easier.

There are several popular models of Kirby vacuum cleaners, but the most popular is the Sentria System. These can only be ordered by contacting a local representative for the company and scheduling an appointment. The representative comes to the shopper’s home and shows how the vacuum works. If the shopper still wants to make a purchase, they set it up right there on the spot. This vacuum was created as a joint project with NASA.

The Sentria System bills itself as more than a vacuum cleaner. It contains a variety of parts and attachments that allows it to serve as 12 different machines. Among the different tasks it can accomplish are vacuuming carpets, cleaning tile floors, cleaning drapes and cleaning furniture. It has a Hepa filtration system to reduce dust in the air and comes with a 3 year warranty. That explains why so many people continue to buy from the Kirby Company.
