How to Use Bissell Little Green Machine
If you’ve just bought the Bissell Little Green Machine, you’ll likely need to assemble it. It’s not difficult, but a screwdriver is needed. Open the box and remove the hose guide clip. Snap it into place on the back of the unit, along the base. This clip holds the excess hose when the unit is stored.
Attach the bracket that holds the hose nozzle to the back of the unit when not in use. Line the bracket up with the proper holes and secure it with the screws provided. Now you have a way to securely store the hose nozzle when not in use.
Using the Bissell Little Green Machine couldn’t be easier. When you’re ready to clean a stain on carpet or upholstery, you can go from unloaded to ready to clean in less than 5 minutes. Remove the cleaning solution tank from the unit. To do this, simply lift straight up on the solution tank and pull slightly away from the unit. Turn the tank upside down, and remove the black cap from the bottom. Remove the cleaning solution bottle and fill with Little Green cleaning solution up to the solution fill line. It will take approximately 8 ounces to fill to the proper level.
Fill the tank with very hot, but not boiling, water up to the “water fill” line. Be sure to not overfill the tank. Replace the tank on the unit. If the stain will need pretreatment, now is the time to do it. Move the unit to the stain, and remove the nozzle. Turn the unit on, and hold the nozzle approximately 3 inches above the stain. Press the activation button and coat the entire stain thoroughly with the cleaning solution from the unit. Once the stain is treated completely, let it sit for 5 minutes.
When ready, turn the unit on again, and push the activation button so the solution will flow. Use the brush to scrub the stain very well. Scrub for at least 60 seconds, or until the stain has been thoroughly treated with the brush. You can periodically use more solution while scrubbing.
Finally, push the cleaning head down onto the stain, and dirty water will be pulled up through the nozzle and deposited into the dirty water tank. While putting pressure on the stain, pull toward you to get the most water possible. Continue this until there is little or no water being pulled up into the tank. Repeat the process if necessary or if the stain is gone, clean and store the unit.
Clean the unit by removing the dirty water tank and emptying it into the toilet. Rinse the tank clean and allow it to dry thoroughly. Once the tank is dry, replace the tank on the unit and store it for its next use. Make sure to empty the clean water from the tank, since the unit works best with hot water.
