Dirt Devil Vacuum Cleaner Tools and Accessories

The Dirt Devil Vacuum Cleaner Company is perhaps one of the oldest vacuum companies in the world, getting its start in 1905. In fact, they are an industry leader and were the first to introduce the hand-held vac, a popular household tool. There have been a lot of changes over the past 100 years, and today, you will find a multitude of choices in Dirt Devil vacuum cleaner tools and accessories.

Five basic types of vacuums are offered by Dirt Devil, each with its own set of tools and accessories. The upright and handheld models are two of the most successful vacuums, although the stick, broom and canister vacuum models are also popular. While some of the Dirt Devil vacuum cleaner tools and accessories are interchangeable between certain models, some are unique.

Over 50 models of upright vacuums are offered by Dirt Devil; some are bagless and come with an HEPA allergen filter, while others have replaceable bags that capture the dirt. Both types of uprights share many of the same cleaner tools and accessories, including an extension wand that attaches via a vacuum hose and allows you to get into hard to reach areas. You can put different tools on the end of this extension wand.

The dust brush, when placed on the end of the extension wand allows you to get into areas above your head such as tall bookcases and even ceiling fan blades. This attachment dusts and sucks up the debris at the same time. The upholstery tool is designed to fit at the end of the extension wand and serves to remove dust, pet hair and other debris from upholstered furniture. The crevice tool is long and cylindrical, just perfect for sucking up dirt and debris from tight spaces such as between seat cushions and tight corners.

The broom and stick vacuums offer fewer Dirt Devil vacuum cleaner tools and accessories, simply due to their design and use around the home. The broom vacuum is used on hard floors and sweeps like a regular broom, only it sucks up the dirt at the same time, leaving no mess. The stick vacuum is a bit more versatile in that it can be used on both hard floors and carpeting. Both models require a cup accessory to collect dirt, as well as a filter to ensure the dirt does not spread into the air.

The handheld vacuum is one of the most versatile products in the Dirt Devil line-up with over 30 models to choose from, including wet-dry vacuums to vacuums perfect for pet owners battling animal hair and dander. While each model may require different size implements, most use some type of dirt cup or container for collecting dust and debris, in addition to a filter to reduce airborne allergens. Some handheld models, like the M0100 Classic Hand Vac, use Dirt Devil vacuum cleaner tools and accessories like a crevice tool, upholstery brush, and separate wand. A removable revolving brush roller called the Turbo is perfect for carpeting and upholstery in the home and car, and the M08210 Scorpion is a popular example of it.

The canister vacuum offers many of the same accessories and tools as the upright vacuum. An extension wand, crevice tool, upholstery brush, and dusting brush are just a few of the tools available to the canister model. In addition, because this type of Dirt Devil vacuum only comes in the bagless variety, all canister vacuums use HEPA filters and dirt cups or containers that must be emptied regularly.

Your style and model of Dirt Devil vacuum will typically dictate the type of Dirt Devil vacuum cleaner tools and accessories available. All Dirt Devils offer reliable, quality machines at an affordable price, and the tools and accessories make them more versatile than their competitors.
