Cleaning Your Dyson Vacuum Cleaner

Dyson vacuums are cutting edge industry leaders, thanks to the innovative designs of inventor and design guru, James Dyson. Dyson is a problem solver. He likes to look at human needs through his unique vision, discovering a new and better way to solve a problem. His designs are always more efficient and just more thoughtful.

Dyson is proud to feature five signature technological advances in the vacuum industry. First, Dyson’s patented “root cyclone technology” means that there is no loss of suction over time. This is an extremely powerful claim to be able to make. It seems the main reason we discard our vacuums is because the suction no longer works well. When we think to repair it, we find we can purchase a replacement vacuum for about as much as the repair costs and go that route instead. Dyson has put an end to that cycle.

Speaking of expense, Dyson wishes to eliminate more of it for you. Making your vacuum last longer is one clear way, but the second of our five advances is also another cost savings for you. Dyson vacuums feature Lifetime HEPAs with washable filters and no bags to buy, ever.
The third advance is the ability of the Dyson vacuum to pick up dirt, dust and debris on all floor surfaces as equally as well as it does on carpet. Many vacuums claim to do this, but don’t.

Fourth, Dyson vacuums produce cleaner exhaust air than other vacuums. All Dyson uprights are certified to be asthma and allergy friendly by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America. The air that comes out of the Dyson after filtering through it has 150 times less bacteria and mold than the normal air you breathe each day.

Lastly, Dyson features a five year warranty on their uprights and canisters, on both parts and labor.  It is a huge relief to know that Dyson fully backs their product and will service it for you, should anything go wrong.

To help keep you from having to utilize that warranty, it is important to follow all usage instructions and perform proper standard maintenance such as cleaning out your Dyson Cyclone canister assembly.

To clean out the Dyson Cyclone canister assembly, be sure the machine is unplugged. Press the filter release catch to release the filter from its housing. Submerge only the blue foam pad and the yellow cage in cold water, not the filter housing itself. Rinse thoroughly, squeezing the pad until the water runs clear. Leave out to dry for at least 12 hours before reassembling. Be sure you hear the pad and cage click back into the housing, indicating they are secure.

Popular models of the Dyson vacuum include the DC21 Stowaway which is an ultra compact and convenient model, as well as the DC14 Telescope Reach upright for all floors, which allows for long range vacuuming. The new DC25 Animal for homes with pets is proving extra popular with its ball technology. No matter what your cleaning needs are, there is sure to be a perfect Dyson to make the job easier.
